The Strada del Vino Prosecco was the first of its kind in Italy. It is 33 km long and winds around the hilly countryside of Conegliano, Feletto, Quartier del Piave and Valdobbiadene.
The local landscape is characterised by rolling hills, where the colours, fragrance and flavours of wine dominate. Hundreds of vineyards have been founded here over the last century and today the area is rich in enchantment, historic and artistic attractions, surprises and suggestions that are almost hidden away in the valleys or among the many hamlets and villages.
The winery we visit today is situated in the DOC production zone of Prosecco, not far from Valdobbiadene. Having visited the three-storey production plant, visitors will enjoy a Prosecco wine tasting. On the ground floor, there are the areas dedicated to selling and dispatching the wines.
Lunchtime will take us to a farmhouse in Valdobbiadene with stunning views of terraced slopes thickly planted with vines, where we will celebrate with a meal of local specialities and toast with Prosecco wine.
BASSANO GRAPPA
Our trip continues with a visit to a well-known distillery near Bassano, where Grappa-making is a centuries’ old tradition. The visit of the distillery will allow us to discover all the secrets of the distillation process and to see an old alembic in operation.
At the end of the guided tour, different kinds of grappa can be tasted to learn about the differences!
On request it is possible to visit the Grappa Museum, in the centre of Bassano.
