San Daniele is not only a ham, but also a place. A magical one, just a stone's throw from the Pre-Alps, lapped by the shores of the river Tagliamento.
It is here, in Friuli, that San Daniele ham has found the ideal environment and the best micro-climatic conditions to become an Italian culinary speciality, which is recognised and loved throughout the world.
In San Daniele there are 27 ham factories, 19 industrial and 8 smaller plants. Today, we will visit the only factory situated in the centre of San Daniele, where we will stay for approximately 30 minutes and where it will be possible to unveil the secrets that make this ham so peculiar.
After the visit, you will have the chance to taste San Daniele ham at the restaurant and lunch.
PASSARIANO – VILLA MANIN
The Villa Manin Estate, located in the village of Passariano, is one of the most significant artistic monuments in the history of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, a symbol of the region’s culture and tourism.
Its centuries of history, grandiose design, and historic gardens, make this residence the most important of the Veneto villas in the region. As a whole, the monumental building appears to the visitor more like a royal palace than a villa.
The scale and artistic importance of the stately home’s grounds make it the most important of the region.
